Changes

Well ive decided to expand what I blog about..... So will blog about my 40k, mostly about the hobby.

Last Night did some more work on PJ's orks, a commission for a friend, to get soem of his Orks painted, table top quality only.

Used my premixed Grime Wash, which is Black Ink, Gun Metal Paint, Glaze Medium, Kleer Floor Polish and a little water.

Having a some metallic paint it the wash leaves it with a gritty looking finish, which looks great on Orks.

Also working on converting some Warhammer Crypt Ghouls into Plaguebearers for a new Daemon Army. I ended up cutting the ghouls diagonally through the hip/stomach on an angle and reversing the hip joint to take them from the hunched position to a more upright stance. The joint was then cover with a small amount of model filler mixed with some solvent cement.

This experiment worked well with them Ghouls ending up with a enlarged stomach very similar to the actual GW models

I also added a single horn to each head using some spares from the Chaos Spawn sprues

Many Changes since the last update

Its been a while since my last update, and a few things have changed.

Mainly the list..... Well its quite a big change really.

Ive decided to take this Army to a tournament, namely Conquest. So the list has been bumped to 1750 and taken on a few changes, some of these based on changes to the models I was going to use.

With impending release of the new Plastic Demon Prince from GW I've decided to add two of these to the list, nether of them will have warptime, but they will have wings and of course 'Gift of Chaos'. It will be a close call getting both of these ready after there release and before the tournament.

Ive also added 20 Lesser Demons to the list, using the soon to be replaced Pink Horrors. I managed to get 3 Boxes of 5 plus 2 of the older 3 model blisters. So 21 total. I must say it takes quite some time to go through and pin the arms and horns for these models.

Going to experiment with Vallejo fluro paint for these demons as I want them to really stand out, plus they will tie in nicely with the Spawn and Spawn obiliterators as these are painted quite brightly too.

Will post up the list and some more photos over the next couple of days... promise

And so it begins.......

So the base list will be ....
2 x Spawn Prince, Wings, Gift of Chaos
22 Spawn Handlers (CSM), 4 with Flamers (2 x Squads)
4 x Spawn
2 x Spawn Obliterator

Maybe in time there will be an expansion list to bring it up to 1500pts

The Spawn Prince:

The Spawn Prince will be a Beholder, well actually i'll be making two, going to make them both at the same time as Im told I never finish anything so need to break this habit. At this stage prob going to keep the two of them similar in design but different in colours.Experimenting at the moment with trying to model some way to make them look like they are hovering.

The Spawn:

I intend to model each spawn as if they have be transformed from another army eg. an ork based spawn with some of the features remaining. So on the hunt at the moment for arms and heads of orks, genestealers and catchan.
